… while all of the playing is outstanding, the singing by soprano Arwen Myers is particularly noteworthy. It’s also worth pointing out that while the largest and most influential early-music scenes continue to exist mainly on the coasts of the US, this recording clearly demonstrates what a high level of early-music-making is happening in the heartland.
