High Places

A summer celebration featuring Violinist Carrie Krause and dancer Genevieve Trygstad-Burke bringing music and movement to mountain tops.

In 2025, HIgh Places included peaks with water en route, for the visual and acoustic gifts of these natural settings. Music included a world premiere of a piece written specifically for these excursions, by Bozeman-raised, young composer Athena Carson.

Yoga instructor and dancer Nico Hurley led mountain-top mindfulness practice and meditations for those who wish to further take in the elements through awareness of place and mind.

Hike at your own pace, and meet us at the top; assume your own risk and responsibility. Unavoidable changes/cancellations are possible.

Excursions are planned for 2026. Please contact us for those details: info@baroquemusicmontana.org

Carrie's High Places fiddle generously on loan from Hollinger Violins of Missoula. Thank you, Mark Hollinger!!

Saddle Peak performance captured by director and cinematographer Michael Paul Jones, 2023

Two people stand in a mountain lake: one plays a violin, and the other dances. Snow-dusted peaks and rocky terrain surround them under a cloudy sky.
