St. John’s Episcopal Church (1901)

St. John’s Episcopal Church, in Paradise Valley, was built to serve mining and agricultural workers around the town of Emigrant, which was established as a railroad stop.  Earlier, in 1862, gold was discovered in Emigrant Gulch, and the nearby hot springs (Chico) provided bathing for trappers and prospectors.
