Event Details
Bach’s solo works for violin is presented in centuries-old rural churches, celebrating these historic buildings and their communities through live performance, photography, and recording. Basin was founded as a gold mining camp in the 1870s near the confluence of Basin Creek and the Boulder River. It is now a town of about 250, with a strong arts presence. The church, which features a distinctive corner entrance, was probably built between 1906-1910. (If anyone knows the exact year, please let us know!)
This event is part of Bach Roads of Montana, a month-long celebration of Bach through community, history, and place in partnership with Downtown Bozeman, Gallatin Valley Land Trust, Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club, Old Main Gallery & Framing, musicians of all abilities, and historic churches across the region.
