Youthful Splendor: Concertos from the Baroque

Outstanding young violinists are featured as concerto soloists in celebrated works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Leclair, delivering vivacious interpretations. The young artists are accompanied by an orchestra of professionals players, led by violinist Carrie Krause.

The Age of Ornaments

From delicate French trills to German divisions to wild Italian esclamatione! , this program explores ornaments from the baroque featuring Bozeman’s Julia Slovarp on cello and Colorado’s Erin Hanke on BaMM’s beautiful harpsichord, on generous loan from the Young family.

The Mystical Violin and Courteous Lute

Seventeenth Century Sonatas. This program spins historic tales and sublime tunes including Greensleeves, the metric shifting Pandolfi Romanesca, and the Brade Chorale Variations – the earliest piece written for violin in England. Additional works by Albertini, Boddecker, Locke, Matteis, Rebel.
